Most JEE aspirants can solve a given Physics problem correctly if given unlimited time. The exam doesn't give unlimited time — it rewards the students who've trained themselves to recognize a problem's pattern in seconds, not minutes.

Sort problems by pattern, not by chapter

Chapter-wise practice teaches concepts; pattern-based practice teaches speed. Once you've covered a topic, group past problems by the technique they require — energy conservation shortcuts, symmetry arguments, dimensional checks — and drill each pattern until recognition becomes automatic.

Time every practice set, even early on

Untimed practice builds accuracy without building the pressure-handling that speed actually requires. Start timing problem sets from your very first revision pass, not just in the final weeks — speed under pressure is a trained skill, and it needs more runway than a two-week sprint before the exam.

  • Daily: 15-20 mixed problems, strictly timed, no formula sheet.
  • Weekly: One full-length timed Physics section, reviewed for where seconds were lost, not just which answers were wrong.
  • Log your slow points: If a pattern consistently costs you time, drill that pattern specifically rather than repeating the whole syllabus.

A silent, distraction-free block of time matters more for this kind of drilling than for regular revision — timed practice with your phone nearby rarely produces an honest number.
